Rising Global Cities: Schroders' Ones To Watch In 2018
Hugo Machin, co-head of global real estate securities at Schroders, has highlighted investible cities around the world that have the potential to rise up the ranks of the Schroders Global Cities 30 Index in 2018.
The group compiles a quarterly index using a number of factors to identify the most economically vibrant cities and with the publication of the latest version of the index, Machin has pointed to those cities he believes have the greatest potential to move up the rankings in 2018.
The cities chosen all have growing levels of disposable income, large and growing populations and a well-educated workforce. These cities should be able to use these advantages to attract companies which, in turn, will attract talented employees.
They also have a cost-effective and efficient transport system, which can underpin the economic success of a city - mass transit allows people to access a city, drawing on a wider employment set and facilitating growth, he said.
This gallery highlights locations that have the potential to rise up the ranks of the Schroders Global Cities 30 Index in 2018.
