James started her financial services career as an assistant fund manager at F&C Asset Management. She has almost 20 years of experience in the industry.
Brookes said: "It is vital that we give advisers and their clients what they need in order to meet their objectives. Much of this comes in what and how we communicate to them, and I am delighted to have someone like Lindsay take a new role that will allow us to do that in an even more dynamic and innovative way.
"Along with our portfolio managers, Lindsay helps to strengthen the range of experts we have available to represent the business and speak with clients, advisers and the media.
"Lindsay knows Quilter inside out and has great experience and knowledge of markets. I look forward to seeing her out there turning complicated subjects into easily digestible content."

James added: "One of the best things about working in financial markets is that they are a melting pot of ever-changing information, fed not only by news flow from central banks and the economy, but also driven by longer term societal trends, technological breakthroughs and geopolitics.
"Distilling this information down and using our high-quality research and insight to present it in a variety of ways is something I am really looking forward to."
