NJM Insurance Group Offers Teen Driver Safety Program Online
NJM Insurance Group, an auto insurer and teen driver safety advocate serving the Mid-Atlantic region, has made its teen driver safety program available online to students, parents and teachers in Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The online program includes “Share the Keys”, a research-based interactive assembly that gives parents and teens tools to build and reinforce safe driving habits, and “What Do You Consider Lethal?”, which is offered in partnership with traffic-safety non-profit Impact Teen Drivers and addresses the dangers of reckless and distracted driving.
“Even though schools are closed and classes have moved online, reinforcing safe driving habits remains a top priority for new drivers,” said Violet Marrero, consumer safety director for NJM. “Due to the shelter-in-place order, new drivers have fewer opportunities to practice on the road. It is more important than ever to fill that gap by reinforcing these skills however we can. Offering our teen driver safety programs online is the perfect extension of NJM’s commitment to support young drivers and their families.”
Auto accidents are the leading cause of death for teens, according to the Centers for Disease Control. NJM’s teen driver safety program, offered free to schools, has been proven to help reduce the risk of teen driver crashes by encouraging active parental involvement.
