BIBA Keeps Jonathan Evans As Chair

BIBA keeps Jonathan Evans as chair

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) will continue to be chaired by former Corporate Affairs Minister Jonathan Evans (pictured), whose tenure has been extended by three more years.

“I have enjoyed the last three years immensely and look forward to working on what the coming months bring,” said Evans, who was a member of Parliament and of the European Parliament for two decades. “I am proud to chair such an engaged board and for us collectively to guide the great BIBA team.”

Evans’ credentials include a background in insurance law and time spent as chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Insurance and Financial Services.

“We are all delighted that Jonathan has agreed to continue as chair,” commented BIBA chief executive Steve White.

“In these challenging times the stability of retaining our chair, who is well versed in the challenges and successes of our sector, will help us greatly to continue to deliver what our members need. I am looking forward to working with him over the coming years.”

During Evans’ stint as Corporate Affairs Minister, he had responsibility for the insurance industry. Prior to joining the BIBA board in 2020, he was chair of Allied World Managing Agency.
