Google Enhances Paris 2024 Olympics Experience with Innovative Features

As the Paris 2024 Olympic Games approach, Google has unveiled a series of innovative features designed to enhance the viewing experience for fans worldwide. According to blog.google, these features include collaborations with YouTube, AI assistance, and updates to the official Olympics app.

YouTube Collaborations

YouTube is partnering with several official broadcasters, including NBCUniversal, Eurosport, Claro, CazéTV, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), to provide extensive coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympics. These collaborations aim to deliver thousands of hours of Olympic content and highlights to viewers around the globe. In select regions, these broadcasters will also live stream events and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies on their YouTube channels.

Adding a unique touch, broadcasters and the IOC will bring YouTube's top lifestyle, travel, food, and gaming creators to Paris. These creators will offer on-the-ground coverage, giving fans an insider’s view of the Games. Additionally, fans can utilize YouTube's multiview feature to watch up to four streams simultaneously. This feature will be available on Claro Sports’ YouTube channel in select Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America and on CazéTV’s channel in Brazil. In the U.S., YouTube TV subscribers can enjoy the multiview feature during NBCUniversal's live coverage of the Games, along with other functionalities such as medal counts.

Gemini AI Assistance

Google's AI assistant, Gemini, is set to play a crucial role in enhancing the Olympic experience. Gemini can assist users in various ways, from learning about new Olympic sports and athletes to planning themed watch parties. For instance, users can ask Gemini for suggestions on Olympic-themed snacks and beverages or inquire about the differences between the Olympic Road Cycling Race and the Tour de France.

Official Olympics App and Google Play Content

Throughout the Games, the Google Play Store will highlight apps, games, and books that help users get into the Olympic spirit. This includes the official Olympics app, which allows fans to watch their favorite events and access exclusive content. Additionally, users can explore language-learning apps to brush up on their French ahead of the Games. Google Play will offer daily updates, keeping fans engaged and informed.

These new features by Google aim to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience for Olympic fans worldwide, ensuring they do not miss any action from the Paris 2024 Games.
