Donald Trump Raises Over $4M In Bitcoin & Altcoins For Campaign

Attending the 2024 Bitcoin Conference gave ex-President Donald Trump the boost he needed. Now referred to as the ‘the crypto president,’ Trump has managed millions in crypto support for POTUS. Trump has received Ethereum, Bitcoin, Ripple’s XRP, and USDC donations.

Trump will be in Nashville, Tennessee, for the 2024 Bitcoin Conference this weekend. According to data released by his campaign team, Trump 47” joint fundraising committee raised over $118M from April 1 to June 30. A court filing shows that 19 donors contributed more than $2.15 million in Bitcoin for his political bid.

The filing shows Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss led the campaign contributions, donating 15.57 BTC. At that time, the BTC stood at more than $1 million. Since their donations exceeded the $844,600 cap, the filing shows that the money was partially reimbursed. On the other hand, Mike Belshe, CEO of BitGo, contributed $50,000 in BTC.

Trump will be in Nashville on Saturday for the Bitcoin Conference, which will be hosted at Music City Center. On the same day, he will also hold a campaign fundraiser in the city, with tickets priced as high as $844,600 per individual.

Brian Hughes, Trump’s campaign aide, told CNBC that “Crypto innovators and others in the technology sector are under attack from Kamala Harris and the Democrats […] While the Biden-Harris Administration stifles innovation with more regulation and higher taxes, President Trump is ready to encourage American leadership in this and other emerging technologies.”

Bitcoin has begun to stabilize after tanking following the Nasdaq red market trade. At this time, Bitcoin is worth $64,797, up 0.2% from an hour ago and down 2.5% in the last 24 hours.
