Coinbase Becomes Official Crypto Partner Of Canadian Football League

Coinbase has announced a partnership with the Canadian Football League as the league’s first-ever official crypto partner.

According to Coinbase, the collaboration will extend to the upcoming 111th Grey Cup in Vancouver, where Coinbase will sponsor the opening coin toss and offer special promotions to CFL fans.

This partnership comes as Coinbase is expanding its reach in Canada. According to the company, approximately five million Canadians — around 13% of the population — already hold some form of cryptocurrency.

With its growing presence, Coinbase sees the CFL’s dedicated fanbase as a key market for broader crypto adoption.

Coinbase is offering incentives to attract more Canadians to its platform. CFL fans who make their first trade on Coinbase’s app or website will receive $25 in Bitcoin (BTC).

Additionally, fans who scan QR codes at CFL games can win prizes, including season tickets and Bitcoin. One grand prize winner will receive $50,000 in Bitcoin and an all-expenses-paid trip to the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg next year.

Coinbase, which officially launched in Canada in 2023, has quickly established itself as a leader in the market. It became the first international exchange to register as a Restricted Dealer in the country and is working toward additional registrations with Canadian financial regulators.
