The seat has been installed on the carrier’s first Boeing 737, and will begin its rollout this summer, eventually being fitted to United’s fleet of 737 NG, A321 neo and 737 Max domestic aircraft.

In addition the airline will update existing domestic first class seats on selected Boeing 737, A319 and A320 aircraft by 2025, with new seat cushions, vegan leather upholstery and winged headrests.

In June 2021 United announced orders for 50 Boeing 737 Max 8, 150 737 Max 10 and 70 A321 neo aircraft, as part of the carrier’s ‘United Next’ programme.
