Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah is giving back throughout the holy month of Ramadan by carefully monitoring its food waste, and educating guests about where their food comes from and where any waste might end up. The initiative will be focused around the hotel’s all-day dining venue, Mowsem, which is also taking a green stance on its Ramadan initiatives by taking care to incorporate as many sustainability-directed leads as possible.
The restaurant’s Iftar meals feature locally-sourced meat, fish, and fresh vegetables from local farms through its partnership with Fresh on the Table, while the hotel is also promoting plant-based dishes, restricting plastic use across operations, and partnering with local food banks. The hotel will be paying special attention to its food waste and trying to reduce this by implementing Winnow’s AI technology, allowing for precise digital monitoring of waste throughout the holy month and collecting essential data needed for forecasting future procurement which will also help minimise its long-term environmental impact.
