On 1 May 2024, Emirates Airline celebrated the relaunch of its daily Phnom Penh service via Singapore.
This service adds another link from Singapore to an additional point in Australasia, following Singapore-Melbourne, which Emirates relaunched in January 2023. It also expands Singapore-Dubai operations to four daily flights.
The occasion was commemorated with a ceremonial event at the Emirates lounge in Singapore’s Changi airport Terminal 1.
Emirates operates its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration on flights to Phnom Penh, offering 8 private suites in first class, 42 lie flat seats in business class and 304 seats in economy class.
Singapore-Phnom Penh is a fifth freedom route, meaning travellers can purchase tickets for travel between just the two cities without connecting on to Dubai.
Phnom Penh’s linked schedule with Singapore is well timed, providing connecting opportunities from key European and American cities including Paris, Lyon, Nice, London Heathrow, Boston, and New York.
Additionally, Emirates SkyCargo will offer cargo belly hold capacity on the Boeing 777-300ER of more than 300 tonnes a week in and out of Phnom Penh. Main commodities exported from Phnom Penh include textiles and pharmaceuticals, the airline said.
