All Nippon Airways (ANA) has partnered with London-based brewery Two Tribes to serve its Tokyo-inspired beer in business class on the Heathrow-Tokyo route.

Passengers onboard the Japanese carrier will be able to savour Two Tribes’ METRO LAND TOKYO 4% Session IPA beer until 30 November, 2024.

The beer has been brewed with rice and features floral aromas and notes of pineapple and green tea “with low bitterness”.

The can features the brand’s collage-style artwork, complete with Tokyo’s futuristic skyscrapers and motifs such as Mount Fuji, Godzilla, a koi fish, a Maneki-neko cat and neon signs.

To celebrate the partnership, the brewery is launching a competition for a pair of ANA-operated return flights to Japan from London Heathrow. The competition runs until 31 July, 2024, with terms and conditions available on the website. Note that, while the beer is served in business class only, the flights for the competition are in economy.

Hiroyuki Miyagawa, ANA’s executive VP EMEA and general manager, London, commented:

“This is an exciting year for ANA as we are going to resume our routes in Vienna and Munich as well as launching in Milan, Stockholm and Istanbul.  We are honoured to have Two Tribes onboard as our partner in this special year. Their quality beers produced locally in London are going to elevate our service offerings for the London route and bring more joy to our customers.”

Mike Shuster, commercial director of Two Tribes, added:

“We are thrilled to be partnering with ANA and providing our Tokyo-inspired quality beer for their business class flyers. Two Tribes is built on creativity and collaboration, and we are incredibly excited to partner with a brand that aligns perfectly with our vision and values.”

Two Tribes has previously partnered with other travel companies, including Eurostar. Last year the Kings Cross-based brewery launched an exclusive pale ale for the rail operator’s passengers:
