Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Red have launched the latest discount promotion for reward seat redemptions.
Members can benefit from a 50 per cent reduction in the number of Virgin points needed to redeem reward seats on transatlantic routes.
Examples given for economy redemptions include 10,000 points for a return flight between London Heathrow and New York (down from 20,000), and 15,000 points for flights to Las Vegas and Los Angeles (normally 30,000).
The offer runs for reward seats booked by 20 March, for travel until 30 June, 2024.
The discount is available in economy, Premium and Upper Class, on all Virgin Atlantic-operated routes between the UK and US. Taxes, fees and other carrier-imposed surcharges are payable in full on redemptions.
Those needing to top up their Virgin Points balances can currently get a bonus of up to 70 per cent when purchasing points before 31 March.
The bonus ranges from 20 per cent for members buying between 5,000 and 24,000 points, up to 70 per cent for those purchasing between 125,000 and 200,000 points.
This week Virgin Atlantic also introduced a new benefit for entry level members of the carrier’s Flying Club frequent flyer programme. Red tier members will board ahead of other customers travelling in Economy Classic and Economy Light, on any Virgin Atlantic operated service throughout the airline’s global network.
