Virgin Atlantic is to expand its Grenada route this winter, with a third weekly service operating between 8 December, 2023 and 29 March, 2024.

A Friday service will join the carrier’s existing Tuesday and Sunday flights from Heathrow, with all three frequencies routing via Barbados.

Earlier this year Virgin added fifth freedom services between Barbados and Grenada, allowing customers to fly between the islands.

And next month the carrier will launch flights between Heathrow and Turks and Caicos, in conjunction with the carrier’s existing Montego Bay service (routing Heathrow-Turks and Caicos-Montego Bay).

Commenting on the news Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, said:

“This additional capacity perfectly aligns with the increased demand for events like the England vs West Indies T20 cricket match and our 50th anniversary of Independence, for which we anticipate a significant uptick of arrivals from the diaspora, who are keen to celebrate this auspicious occasion with family and friends on island.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Virgin for their unwavering support and confidence in Grenada and we commit to further fostering this partnership as we move forward.”

British Airways also flies from Gatwick to Grenada, via St Lucia.
