For Indians looking to re-enter Japan, a set of revised guidelines have been issued.
As per the protocols, all foreign nationals with the status of residence, who had left Japan before August 31, 2020, with a valid re-entry permit, are now eligible to re-enter Japan from September 1, 2020.
- Indians who left Japan on or before May 26 can return to Japan based on re-entry confirmation letter (to be issued by the Embassy of Japan in Delhi, or Japanese Consulates in India). They need to have a negative PCR test 72 hours prior to departure from India.
- Those who left Japan between May 27 and August 31 can also now return on the re-entry confirmation letter.
- Indians who leave Japan from September 1 onwards need to get a receipt to re-enter the country from the Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
