United Airlines has unveiled a new inflight safety video filmed within an airplane-inspired sequential reaction machine.

YouTube videos involving sequential reaction setups can be incredibly popular, often racking up millions of views, and the carrier hopes that its new video will “capture and keep the attention of even the most frequent fliers”.

It follows a ball as it makes its way through the sequential reaction machine, passing through airplane-inspired set-ups including chutes, a snack cart and drink cup, seatbelts, windows, seats and directional signage, while United employees demonstrate key safety procedures.

The video took ten months to make, and features 17 employees, 12 individual contraptions, and 1,000 dominoes, all set to United’s signature theme tune Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin.
