TRS Turquesa Hotel: A Tropical Haven In Punta Cana

Waking to the golden glow of sunshine streaming through the curtains, I step onto the balcony of my suite to greet another day in paradise. Below, the turquoise waters of the Caribbean sparkle, and the soft rustle of palm trees carries the promise of yet another perfect day at TRS Turquesa Hotel. Nestled on the renowned Bávaro Beach, this adults-only retreat blends indulgence with tranquillity, offering a sanctuary in one of the most beautiful corners of the Dominican Republic.

Perched along a mile-long stretch of pristine white sand, TRS Turquesa Hotel feels like a hidden gem within Punta Cana’s vibrant beauty. Part of the prestigious Palladium Group, the resort spans 32 hectares, sharing its grounds with neighbouring Grand Palladium properties, yet it offers a sense of seclusion and calm that feels worlds away.

The design reflects Dominican heritage, creating a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere. With 372 rooms, eight restaurants, and numerous bars, the resort’s “dine-around” concept ensures a rich culinary experience, while a variety of activities, including beach yoga and water sports, caters to every pace.

From the moment I arrived, I felt embraced by the resort’s warmth and elegance. A live violinist played in the bright, airy lobby as I was welcomed with a refreshing cocktail. Beyond the entrance lay beautifully manicured gardens, inviting pools, and the alluring beach, all ready to be explored.

Luxurious Accommodation

The Junior Suite Poolside became my home for 14 nights, a perfect blend of comfort and style. The spacious layout included a living area, a hydro-massage bathtub, and a private balcony overlooking the pool and the shimmering sea beyond.

Mornings began with a coffee on the balcony, gazing out at the turquoise waters and letting the soft Caribbean breeze set a tranquil tone for the day. Little touches, like daily chocolates from the on-site chocolatier, added to the indulgence, while the 24-hour concierge ensured every request was met with efficiency and care.

This trip, booked through TUI for a total of £2,000, included a direct British Airways flight, making it a seamless escape. The first week was dedicated to relaxation—long, lazy days by the pool, spa visits, and plenty of culinary exploration. By the second week, I felt refreshed enough to blend in some remote working. The suite’s strong Wi-Fi and serene setting made catching up on emails almost enjoyable, especially with such an inspiring view.

Culinary Adventures

The food at TRS Turquesa was a highlight of the stay. With 14 restaurants and 24 bars, the variety and quality were outstanding.

Mornings often began at Helios, a beachfront restaurant offering everything from fresh fruit and pastries to tuna sashimi. For lunch, the prawn ceviche at Capricho and grilled seafood served on the beach were favourites.

Evenings offered even more variety. The Japanese-Peruvian fusion dishes at Kusko stood out for their bold flavours, while La Bohème’s French-inspired elegance was perfect for a more refined meal. Chic Cabaret paired dinner with live performances, creating a memorable dining experience that was worth booking in advance.

The “dine-around” concept ensured I could sample a wide array of cuisines, and I never tired of the choices.

Rejuvenation at the Spa

The Zentropia Palladium Spa and Wellness Centre was a haven within the resort. My mornings often began with a workout in the well-equipped gym, followed by a visit to the hydrotherapy area. Steam baths, hot and cold tubs, and saunas provided endless relaxation, while exclusive treatments and massages left me feeling completely rejuvenated.

Explore Beyond

No visit to Punta Cana is complete without a trip to Saona Island, part of the East National Park. This untouched paradise is a vision of mangroves, coral reefs, and pristine beaches. Protected from development, the island retains its natural beauty and tranquillity.

Crystal-clear natural pools stretched across the horizon, perfect for swimming or snorkelling. A freshly caught lobster lunch on the beach was a highlight, and spotting starfish along the shore added a touch of magic to the day.

Final Thoughts

TRS Turquesa Hotel is the very definition of a tropical haven. Whether you’re seeking complete relaxation, adventure, or even a mix of leisure and remote working, this Punta Cana gem delivers an unforgettable experience.

The balance of my stay—unwinding in the first week and finding a productive rhythm in the second—made it clear that TRS Turquesa offers something for everyone. With luxurious accommodations, world-class dining, and unparalleled service, it’s a destination I would return to in a heartbeat.

Cost: A 14-night stay, including British Airways flights, was booked through TUI for £2,000. For this level of luxury, it’s a bargain in paradise.
