The Hoxton will open its latest European property in April 2023, with the unveiling of a 198-room hotel in Brussels.
The Hoxton, Brussels will occupy the brutalist-style Victoria Tower, the former European headquarters of IBM, north of the city centre and close to the Botanical Garden and Northern Business District.
The hotel will include 70s-inspired rooms with design by Aime Studios underpinned by Brutalist shapes and motifs.
The 22-storey building will include a double-height lobby with a retro-style bar, two dining venues and The Apartment meeting and events space.
The building will also be home to the brand’s third outpost of its co-working concept Working From, which currently has locations in London’s Southwark and Chicago. Working From will open in June 2023 and occupy four floors of the building, with open desks, studios, breakout spaces, and communal pantries on each floor.
Features will include polished plaster walls, bold geometric forms and a collection of vintage furniture sourced predominantly from Belgian antique stores and flea markets. There will also be greenery throughout to reflect the neighbouring botanical gardens, while bespoke murals have been commissioned from artists Madeleine Schilling and Claire de Quenetain.
Rooms will be furnished with raw materials with high lacquered finishes, velvet upholstery, walnut cabinets and graphic rugs inspired by the original concrete facade. Bathrooms, meanwhile, will have pink washbasins, deep blue metro tiles and oversized terrazzo flooring.
