The hotel’s distinctive transformation was carefully executed in planned phases over three years.
The celebratory evening featured special moments such as a laser, light, and sound show in 45 hues, 45 varieties of artisanal chocolates, a 4.5-tier cake, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque – ’45 Years of Taj Mahal, New Delhi – A Legacy, Re-imagined.’ The grand relaunch brought together esteemed patrons, members of The Chambers, diplomats, business leaders, and cultural luminaries. Guests enjoyed the soulful melodies of the Shillong Chamber Choir.
The culinary offerings, curated by Chef Arun Sundararaj, Director of Culinary Operations at Taj Mahal, New Delhi, took guests on a journey through timeless classics and innovative dishes. Immersive food theatres showcased the hotel’s legendary and new restaurants, featuring Lobster Thermidor, Caviar, Truffle and Cheese carts, an array of Grills and Roasts, Pattar Ka Gosht, Salad & Mushroom theatre, and an innovative dessert bar, among others.
