Lufthansa announced today that it intends to resume flights between Hong Kong and Frankfurt at the beginning of July.
Business Traveller Asia-Pacific has asked Lufthansa for the schedule it plans to operate on its Hong Kong-Frankfurt route.
Meanwhile, Swiss International Airlines operated its first flight out of Hong Kong yesterday evening (June 3).
The carrier says it will operate its twice-weekly Hong Kong route on the following schedule throughout June:
Flight: LX139 (Wednesday and Sunday from Hong Kong to Zurich)
Departure Hong Kong: 11:45 pm
Arrival Zurich: 6:10 am +1/next day
Flight: LX138 (Tuesday and Saturday from Zurich to Hong Kong)
Departure Zurich: 1:10 pm
Arrival Hong Kong: 7:00 am +1/next day
The carrier has deployed a Boeing 777-300 on all flights to and from Hong Kong.
“We are more than happy being able to connect Hong Long with Europe again,“ says Veli Polat, head of Lufthansa Group sales for mainland China and Hong Kong.
“It is the first step of what hopefully will be a return to normalcy for Swiss, our Lufthansa Group Airlines and aviation in general,” Polat added.
Swiss and Lufthansa are both part of The Lufthansa Group.
The Lufthansa Group said the flights to and from Hong Kong are subject to entry regulations from both Switzerland and Hong Kong.
“Customers are asked to check prior to their flight if they meet all requirements set by the authorities,” reads a statement from the Group.
