Standard International is to open its first Irish property under The Standard hotels brand.
Developer Ballymore has confirmed that the group will open a 200-room hotel within the forthcoming Dublin Arch regeneration scheme next to the city’s Connolly station.
The property is expected to open in 2025, with the wider Dublin Arch development also offering residential units, office space, retail and restaurants, community clubs, artists’ studios and landscaped plazas.
The Standard hotels brand launched in 1999, and currently has seven properties, in New York, LA, Miami and the Maldives, as well as The Standard London which opened in 2019 – for our review of this hotel see:
The group also recently announced plans for its first property in Singapore, to be located on Orange Grove Road across from the renowned Shangri-La Singapore.
The 143-room new-build hotel is scheduled to open in 2023, and will feature a signature restaurant and an infinity swimming pool with a bar, “set within a lush botanical courtyard”.
Commenting on the news Ballymore’s chairman and chief executive Sean Mulryan said:
“Our Dublin Arch development highlights our commitment to Dublin’s North East Inner City.
“Attracting high-calibre commercial partners to this historic area was a key objective and I am thrilled that Standard Hotels have chosen to locate their first Irish hotel in Dublin Arch.”
