Silkair, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, has announced plans for a non-stop service between Singapore and the South Korean city of Busan.
The four-times-weekly service, served by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft configured with both business and economy class seats, will begin from 1 May 2019.
Flights to Busan will depart from Singapore at 2315 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and arrive at Busan at 0700 the next morning. The return leg will leave Busan at 0800 on Tuesdays while at 0830 on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and land back in Singapore at 1415.

Located on the southern tip of the Korean Peninsula, Busan is the second largest city of South Korea, popular for its natural coastal scenery, local cultural attractions and specialty food.
The non-stop service is the first South Korean city in Silkair’s network. No other airlines have scheduled flights between Singapore and Busan. Singapore Airlines, Asiana and Korean Air all fly directly between Singapore and the South Korean capital Seoul.
“We are pleased to introduce services to Busan, offering customers in Singapore and around the region yet another vibrant and charming destination to explore in our network,” says Silkair chief executive Foo Chai Woo.
“For Koreans travelling from Busan, the new route will also offer greater access and connectivity with the Silkair and Singapore Airlines network in Asia-Pacific and beyond.”
