Qatar Airways has announced an expansion of its services to Egypt in the coming weeks, with a new route to Sharm El-Sheikh, the resumption of flights to Luxor, and additional frequencies to Cairo.
The twice weekly Sharm El-Sheikh service will launch on December 3, operating on Tuesday and Friday as follows:
- QR1311 departs Doha at 0900, arriving into Sharm El-Sheikh at 1045
- QR1312 departs Sharm El-Sheikh at 1315, arriving into Doha at 1730
The new route will be operated by an A320 aircraft configured with 12 first class and 132 economy seats.
Ahead of this a four-time-weekly service (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) to Luxor will resume on November 23, departing Doha at 0825 and Luxor at 1210.
Finally Qatar Airways has increased its Doha-Cairo route to triple daily from the start of this month. In total the carrier will offer 34 weekly flights to Egypt this winter.
The airline has been steadily increasing services across its network as restrictions ease – last month it added frequencies to Edinburgh and Manchester, “to meet pent up demand following the lifting of travel restrictions”.
