Qantas has announced plans to launch a new Melbourne-Bali service on June 23.
The new route comes as Jetstar increases its Melbourne-Bali flights from 10 to 14 per week.
Alison Webster, CEO of Qantas International said: “Bali is a very popular holiday destination which caters to different budgets and tastes and with more services between the two countries, we are able to provide customers with greater choice.
“In the last five years, we have seen the number of Australians travelling to Bali more than double, with Qantas and Jetstar carrying 1.6 million customers between them in the last year.”
Qantas’ year-round daily Sydney-Denpasar service has been reflecting strong demand from customers who want a full-service experience travelling to one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations.
The route will be operated by a two-class 174-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The daily service will depart Melbourne International Airport at 1650 and arrive in Bali at 2110. The return leg leaves Indonesia at 2210 before touching down in Australia at 0555 the following day.
