Oneworld has launched a new portal providing customers with “the latest updates on the health and well-being measures they can expect while travelling” in the Covid-19 era.
The microsite at oneworld.com/covid-19/oneworld-together is described as “a one-stop customer resource” for ground and inflight measures implemented by member airlines and major airports in the alliance’s network.
Oneworld said that these measures include contactless check-in, enhanced and expanded cleaning of aircraft and customer touchpoints in airports and lounges, physical distancing during the boarding process, and the wearing of masks and face coverings.
Earlier this month Star Alliance published an agreed common set of health and hygiene safety measures among its 26 member carriers, while Skyteam recently launched a new Skycare and Protect pledge to reassure passengers and airline staff.
Commenting on the news Oneworld CEO Rob Gurney said:
“Safety has always been the top priority for Oneworld member airlines. While the flying experience is different during these challenging times, our member airlines have implemented additional measures to protect the health and safety of customers.
“The portal we introduced today is another step of that commitment, and we hope that customers may have even greater peace of mind as they resume their travel.”
