It appears that Oslo-based Norse Atlantic will launch Paris CDG-New York JFK before US carrier Jetblue.
Today Norse Atlantic announced that it will be operating the above route daily effective March 26, 2023.
Norse Atlantic’s daily two-class B787 flight from Paris CDG will depart at 1945 to arrive into New York JFK at 2200.
Its return service will depart New York JFK at 0030 to arrive back into Paris CDG the same day at 1405.
Flights are open for booking, with lead-in one-way fares at €219.
Norse Atlantic CEO Bjorn Tore Larsen commented:
“We are very pleased to announce a new route today. Norse Atlantic now serves four key European destinations from New York with Paris joining London Gatwick, Berlin and Oslo.”
Two weeks ago we reported that Jetblue would launch the same route in summer 2023.
It was thought Jetblue would inaugurate the route in summer 2023, although it may decide to bring forward the launch date.
Although Paris-New York is not as fiercely contested as London-New York, it remains highly competitive.
Norse Atlantic and Jetblue must compete with airlines including Air France, Delta, United, American Airlines and France’s budget carrier French Bee.
Not all of the above operate Paris CDG to New York JFK. One or two flights operate Paris ORY to New York Newark. Note that changes are possible by summer 2023.
