NH Hotel Group has reached its 12th property milestone in Milan with a hotel situated in a former church.
NH Collection Milano City Life occupies the Chiesa Cristo Re, a former church dating back to 1934, in the Citylife shopping district. The hotel group has collaborated with architectural firm Quattro Associati to redevelop the church, maintaining its original features and adding a 13-storey tower behind it to house the 175 guest rooms.
The hotel lobby is located in a maintained section of the church, which features a Latin cross floor plan, original wooden doors, round arches and aisles of the side naves. There are 10 duplex suites built above the central nave, six of which feature terraces with views of the city.
The hotel also features six meeting rooms, which can be set up in 11 different configurations and have a maximum capacity of 520 people, with a large private garden. It is conveniently located next to the MiCo Halls, Europe’s largest convention centre.
