A new Four Seasons Resort will open in The Red Sea development which is located along the western coast of Saudi Arabia. No opening date has yet been confirmed for it.

The resort is designed by Foster + Partners and will offer approximately 149 rooms and suites, all with seaviews. The property will also feature six restaurants and lounges, as well as meeting and events spaces and a marine discovery centre.

Plans have also been drawn up for a full-service spa with a hammam, tennis courts, three outdoor pools with cabanas, and two separate beaches for families and adults.

The property will be located on Shura Island, the hub of The Red Sea development, which is also home to a yacht marina, retail offerings, and a 18-hole golf course.

The resort will be accessible to visitors from around the world by way of The Red Sea’s dedicated airport, currently under development.

The Red Sea will comprise of natural islands and lagoons across 200km of coastline between the cities of Umluj and Al Wajh. It is being built with sustainable practices and tourism at its core, and will rely on renewable energy while developing only a small portion of the islands with expansive dedicated conservation zones.

Apart from the upcoming property in the Red Sea, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts current operates the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre. Elsewhere in the kingdom, it has announced plans for openings in Diriyah and Jeddah.

“As we continue to expand Four Seasons presence in the region, our new project in the Red Sea will be one of our first resorts in the kingdom, blending the best of beachside travel with the natural and cultural wonders of Saudi Arabia,” says Bart Carnahan, president of Global Business Development and Portfolio Management at Four Seasons.

Red Sea Global, owned by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund, is the developer behind The Red Sea and Amaala – both of which are ultra-luxury developments in the kingdom.
