Marlow Travelodge Plus is the company’s 585th hotel and its seventh in the Plus format.
It is the first Travelodge with mini chiller cabinets in its SuperRooms. Other features include Hansgrohe Raindance showers, Lavazza pod coffee machines, hairdryers, ironing boards, USB power outlets and a desk and chair.
The hotel will serve breakfast, dinner and drinks at its Bar Café.
Other Plus locations include London City, London Waterloo, Gatwick Airport, Brighton Seafront, York Micklegate and Edinburgh Central.
Travelodge reported revenue up 8.8 per cent to £693.3m in its 2019 annual results, which it attributed to a “five-year transformation” programme that saw its portfolio grow by 4 per cent to 575 hotels.
In 2012, facing mounting debt, the company agreed to a financial restructuring that saw £235m in debt written off, 49 properties dropped from its portfolio and a £75m cash injection from investors.
It now says it wants to open 100 hotels over the next five years, particularly in conference centre locations and spots along the upcoming HS2 line.
