Mumbai Airport’s main runway is going to be closed for seven hours daily between 10am-5pm (except Wednesdays) until February 17.

Operations for equipment maintenance at the airport’s main runway are underway between 10am-5pm, and a “notice to airmen” (NOTAM) has been issued for the same.

Airport officials have said that they are conducting maintenance of the Instrument Landing System equipment, which is used to improve lighting at the airport during night hours.

Since the secondary runway handles lesser flights compared to the main one, airlines have been requested to re-schedule flights as per the notice. Jet Airways, IndiGo Airlines and Vistara have informed their customers about the situation through social media.
