Minor Hotels is to add two properties in Qatar’s capital Doha, under its NH Collection and Anantara brands.
The 228-room Vyra Suites NH Collection Doha will be located in the West Bay district of the city, and will offer a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, as well as a restaurant, coffee shop, gym, indoor swimming pool and “a number of meeting rooms”.
No opening date has yet been given for the hotel, although Minor states that it is currently in its “pre-opening phase”. It will be the brand’s first property outside of Europe and South America – NH Collection recently added hotels in Antwerp and Munich.
Meanwhile the Plaza Doha Anantara Hotel and Suites is currently under development in the Um Ghuwelina area on the eastern side of the city, around 15 minutes’ drive from Hamad International airport.
The 292-room hotel will offer “multiple dining options and a fully air conditioned courtyard atrium anticipated to be the centrepiece of the property”, as well as a spa and wellness area, rooftop infinity swimming pool and second indoor pool, a gym, and seven meeting rooms including a 1,200 sqm ballroom.
Minor Hotels currently operates 17 properties in the Middle East, including five hotels in Qatar under its Anantara, Tivoli and Oaks brands.
Anantara recently announced plans for it first urban property in Europe, with the rebranding of The Marker hotel in Dublin.
