Marriott has announced plans to add an all-inclusive property in the Mexican resort destination of Cancun.
The 1,049-room Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun join Marriott’s Autograph Collection when it opens in late 2022.
Situated on the coastline to the south of Cancun, the property will feature a waterpark, theatre, bowling alley, nine bars and a dozen onsite restaurants.
The resort will add to Marriott’s growing all-inclusive portfolio, which currently stands at nearly 30 properties in eight locations across the Caribbean and Latin America.
Marriott entered the all-inclusive market in 2019 with the acquisition of Elegant Hotels Group, and last year it announced plans to more than double its all-inclusive portfolio, signing a long-term agreement with Sunwing Travel Group’s hotel division, Blue Diamond Resorts – owner of the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun.
Commenting on the news Laurent de Kousemaeker, Chief Development Officer, Caribbean and Latin America, Marriott International, said:
“We are thrilled to continue working with Blue Diamond Resorts to add another exciting all-inclusive resort to the All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio.
The Autograph Collection Hotels brand champions individuality with each hotel being a product of passion, making this brand an exceptional fit for this significant project and the other 20 Blue Diamond Resorts that have joined the collection.”
