Marriott plans to debut its AC Hotels brand in South Korea, with an opening in Seoul.
AC Hotel by Marriott Seoul Gangnam is located in the city’s Yeoksam-dong area, which is home to the corporate headquarters of several multinational companies and an hour by car from Incheon International airport.
The hotel features 270 rooms and four suites with private pools and sunbeds on their terraces as well as amenities including Bluetooth speakers, Nespresso coffee machines, air purifiers and Korres toiletries.
The hotel is aimed at “next-gen guests” with a modern design comprising sleek furnishings and hardwood floors.
Dining venues include the Spanish-inspired all-day dining restaurant AC Kitchen, which offers daily buffets; rooftop bar Kloud, which serves cocktails and snacks amid floor-to-ceiling window views of the city; and the AC Lounge which provides hot and cold beverages.
The hotel will also feature a gym and sauna, as well as a kids lounge featuring an indoor playground.
There will be 218 sqm of flexible function space, accommodating up to 130 people, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a large LED media wall for mixed media events.
Jeff Tomczek, global brand leader of AC Hotels, commented:
“We are thrilled to introduce the AC Hotels brand to South Korea with the opening of AC Hotel by Marriott Seoul Gangnam.
“Seoul is known for its vibrant design scene, making the design-led AC Hotels brand an ideal fit for the city. The hotel is set to offer a perfectly orchestrated experience based on purposeful design, flexible spaces and carefully crafted experiences, which will empower our guests to be more creative, productive and fulfilled.”
Last year Marriott opened its first hotel under its Luxury Collection in South Korea, located in Seoul’s Gangnam neighbourhood.
The lifestyle brand currently operates over 195 hotels globally in over 27 countries and territories.
