Loganair has announced a number of enhancements to its services from Heathrow for this summer.

There will be a third weekly one-stop flight to Sumburgh in the Shetland Islands (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday), a second Saturday service to the Isle of Man, and a third Sunday flight to Derry.

Loganair says it has also improved the timings of its Derry and Isle of Man routes, with the afternoon service from Derry departing at lunchtime, opening up more connection possibilities at Heathrow.

The evening Heathrow-bound service will now depart 40 minutes earlier at 1730, and the final flight of the day from Heathrow will leave at 1945 and arrive into Derry at 2110.

Meanwhile the carrier’s Isle of Man-Heathrow service will now depart at 0945 and arrive into London at 1120, again allowing for connections onto flights to destinations including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Seattle.

Meanwhile the second Isle of Man-Heathrow frequency will operate in the afternoon to give customers more choice.

Loganair launched its first flights from Heathrow in 2020, and announced plans to operate PSO (Public Service Obligation) services from Derry and Dundee to Heathrow last year.

Loganair to link Heathrow with City of Derry and Dundee

Commenting on the news Luke Lovegrove, Loganair’s chief commercial officer, said:

“Our routes to Heathrow have gone from strength to strength since we started our services from T2 last April and, with both the Elizabeth Line and Heathrow Express rapid connections linking Heathrow with central London, the improvements to flight times assure a full working day in London.

“We continue to fly to and from some of the most remote destinations in the country, and this summer will provide unrivalled regional connectivity for these areas, led by customer demand.”
