A 10,000-square-foot premium lounge for elite-level travellers on Brazilian airline LATAM is now open at Miami International Airport.
The lounge, which opened on November 8 in MIA’s Terminal J, features bilingual staff, decor inspired by the Amazon rainforest, dining and work/co-working areas, and food and drink service (including self-serve chocolate mousse, fruit, and yogurt stations).
The bathroom area has two showers, and the business centre is equipped with Mac computers. There is also a meeting space, which, according to get.com “overlooks a bustling terminal down below”.
The lounge is open to both arriving and departing passengers. Opening hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 0530 0130, and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, 0400 a.m. to 0130.
LATAM has been operating a temporary lounge at MIA while the new facility was under construction. The new lounge is co-located with Avianca’s VIP lounge.
LATAM business class, Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members, Oneworld business-class, Lufthansa first, Austrian Airlines business class, Swiss first class, Air France first class, Caribbean Air first class, and El Al first class passengers can use the lounge.
Government approval was recently received for a $5 billion makeover of the airport, to allow for growth to an estimated 77 million annual travellers by 2040.
