Marriott International has opened the latest US property under its luxury JW brand, and the first in Dallas.

The 267-room hotel is located on North Harwood Street in the city’s downtown Arts District, within walking distance of attractions including the Dallas Museum of Art, Meyerson Symphony Center and Winspear Opera House.

Features include an 11th floor sky lobby “museum-esque space” with a floating staircase and a brass and metal art installation by Dallas-based artist Chris Judy, “reminiscent of sheet music, delicate harp strings, and the chandeliers in the Winspear Opera House”.

The hotel offers a rooftop pool with cabanas, as well as ranch-to-table restaurant Margaret’s, Vincent’s Sky Lounge with views of the city, and street-level cocktail lounge 800 North.

Meeting and events space include a 730 sqm ballroom, and an all-white “Blank Canvas Room” which Marriott says is the first for a JW Marriott property and “ideal for high-level brainstorming and strategy sessions”.

The JW Marriott portfolio currently counts over 100 properties across 35 countries and territories, with recent openings including JW Marriott Hotel Xi’an, JW Marriott Goa and JW Marriott Hotel Madrid.

Two German hotels have also joined the brand in the last year or so with the reflagging of the Hotel Berlin Central District as the JW Marriott Hotel Berlin, and the Jumeirah Frankfurt as the JW Marriott Hotel Frankfurt.
