Marriott has added the first property under its JW Marriot brand in Germany, with the rebranding of an existing Jumeirah property.
The Jumeirah Frankfurt is now trading as the JW Marriott Hotel Frankfurt, and is undergoing renovation works to bring it in line with the JW brand.
The 219-room hotel is located on Thurn-und-Taxis-Platz in the city’s Zeil shopping district, and is directly connected to the My Zeil shopping centre.
The property originally opened in 2011 as Jumeirah’s first mainland Europe hotel, and has been reviewed several times by Business Traveller over the last decade.
Facilities include Max on One restaurant, offering “modern French cuisine with an Asian twist in a metropolitan atmosphere”, as well as Ember Bar and Lounge, an indoor pool, spa and sauna, and 244 sqm of meeting and events space across four rooms.
Germany artist Hartwig Ebersbach created 230 paintings which hang throughout the property, and the hotel also produces its own honey from hives situated on the rooftop of the 25-storey building.
Commenting on the news Bruce Rohr, Global Brand Leader, JW Marriott, said:
“With each new opening, JW Marriott brings with it a legacy of luxury hospitality combined with the brand’s foundation of holistic well-being.
“Travellers to the storied German city staying at JW Marriott Hotel Frankfurt will now have access to JW Marriott’s genuine service, comfortably modern design and of course guiding principles of a well-being lifestyle that can be seen and felt throughout the guest experience.”
