ITA Airways has announced plans to add a third daily flight to its Rome Fiumicino-New York JFK route.
The additional frequency will launch on June 1, departing Rome Fiumicino at 0915 and returning from New York JFK at 1805.
The new flights will complement existing departures from Rome at 1010 and 1510, and the New York departures at 1600 and 2130.
ITA referred to North America as “the centre of the Company’s investments in Summer 2023” – the carrier also operates daily flights from Milan Malpensa to New York JFK, and is set to launch routes from Rome Fiumicino to Washington DC on June 2, and to San Francisco on July 1.
In total the Italian airline will fly to 69 destinations this summer, 46 of which will be international routes.
The additional Rome-JFK frequency follows the news that Norse Atlantic Airways is to launch flights on the route from June 19.
American Airlines also offers a seasonal service between the Rome Fiumicino and New York JFK, while Delta operates the route year-round.
