Hyatt has announced plans to bring its Hyatt Regency brand to Spain for the first time, with an agreement to rebrand two existing Hesperia properties.

The Hesperia Madrid Hotel will become the Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid, while the Hesperia Barcelona Tower will be reflagged as the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Fira.

Both properties will be available to book via hyatt.com from June, and will undergo “significant renovations” ahead of the being fully rebranded in the fourth quarter of this year.

The hotels will join Park Hyatt Mallorca, Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid and Hotel Sofia Barcelona (which recently joined Hyatt’s Unbound Collection) as the fourth and fifth Hyatt properties in Spain.

The Hesperia Madrid Hotel is located on Paseo de Castellana and features 170 rooms, a club lounge and locally inspired restaurant and bar, while the 280-room Hesperia Barcelona Tower is situated on Avinguda de la Granvia towards the southwest of the city, around 8km from Barcelona El Prat Airport.

The hotels will be operated under a franchise agreement with an affiliate of Hesperia Hotels and Resorts.
