Hyatt’s Unbound Collection has entered New York with the Grayson Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

The 296-room lifestyle hotel occupies a new-build at 30 W. 39th Street, with architecture and design by Marcello Pozzi.

Rooms and suites feature design elements developed by The Setting New York, including exposed concrete ceilings, subway tiles in the bathrooms, vintage books and objects “that represent industrial accomplishments” and bespoke artwork.

In-room amenities include a mini bar with craft cocktails and locally sourced snacks and beverages, bamboo lemongrass-scented Lather bath and body products, custom-designed ‘hoodie’ bathrobes and a bronze statue of the hotel’s French Bulldog mascot, Grayson.

Dining venues are overseen by New York City-based hospitality company Apicii, with design by Dutch East Designs. Ground floor all-day brasserie Harta offers pan-Mediterranean cuisine, while Bar Harta on the second floor is a wine and tapas bar with a seasonal patio.

The 28th floor is home to rooftop mezcaleria Bar Cima, offering views of the Empire State Building and Hudson Rivers.

Guests will be able to make use of a 24-hour fitness centre which includes Soul Cycle bikes and TRX treadmills among other equipment. The hotel also boasts a collection of artwork curated by consultancy company Indie Walls which highlights historical sites in the Big Apple.

Hyatt launched The Unbound Collection in 2016, which it describes as “a portfolio of new and existing upper-upscale hotel properties, ranging from historic urban gems to contemporary trend-setters, boutique properties to resorts and private home accommodations”.

There are 35 hotels in the collection, with recent additions including Tornabuoni Hotel in Florence, Hotel du Palais Biarritz, and La Zambra hotel in Spain’s Costa del Sol.
