Emirates has outlined plans to return to “pre-pandemic flight frequencies” across its Indian network from next month.

The Gulf carrier said that the move had was a result of “the decision by the Indian government to restore international flights to and from the country in line with established bilateral agreements from the end of March 2022”.

Emirates will operate a total of 170 weekly flights to nine cities across the country from April 1, including 35 weekly flights to Mumbai, 28 to Delhi, 24 to Bengaluru, 21 to Chennai, 21 to Hyderabad, 14 to Kochi, 11 to Kolkata, nine to Ahmedabad, and seven to Thiruvananthapuram.

The carrier is also now offering a daily A380 superjumbo service between Dubai and Mumbai, on flights EK500 and EK501.

Note that customers travelling in business and first class from Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi benefit from complimentary chauffeur drive service to the airport.

The news follows Finnair’s decision to return to Mumbai for the first time in 13 years, with a thrice-weekly service launching in July.
