Irish carrier Emerald Airlines has flown its millionth passenger less than a year since its inaugural flight.
The airline, which has a franchise agreement with Aer Lingus, launched flights on the Dublin-Donegal route in February 2022.
To mark the occasion, the family travelling on flight EI3304 from Dublin to Southampton received four complimentary, roundtrip tickets to use on the Emerald Airlines/Aer Lingus Regional route network.
Conor McCarthy, executive chairman of Emerald Airlines said:
“Today is a tremendous milestone for us at Emerald Airlines. Having only operated our very first flight less than 12 months ago, to have just welcomed our one millionth passenger in such a short time frame is a really great achievement by the whole team here at Emerald. We wish the Brady Family a really enjoyable trip and we look forward to welcoming them on board many times more in the future!”
By summer 2023, the carrier will operate 25 routes from Dublin and Belfast, with over 580 flights per week. This summer will see new routes from Belfast to Jersey and Newquay, as well as a doubling of seats on routes from Dublin to Southampton and Jersey.
Additionally, the airline has added flights on the Dublin-Glasgow, Dublin-Edinburgh, Belfast-Manchester and Belfast-Birmingham routes.
Emerald Airlines also highlighted that passengers can connect onto several routes on the Aer Lingus transatlantic network from Dublin airport.
