Choice International Hotels has announced a new agreement with electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla to off the firm’s EV chargers at it US properties.
Choice said that participating Radisson, Cambria, Comfort, Country Inn & Suites, Quality Inn and other Choice-branded hotels would offer four or more of the Universal Wall Connectors.
Choice said that customers would be able to find properties with charging stations by using the EV charging filter when booking at choicehotels.com or on the group’s mobile app.
Choice said that 41 per cent of its Cambria hotels currently offer EV charging, with all of these properties expected to be fitted with at least one charging station by the end of this year.
The group also said that 90 per cent of Choice-branded properties in the US are in suburban, interstate, and small-town locations, with 76 per cent located within one mile of a highway entrance, and in 2022 guests who drove to its hotels accounted for 82 per cent of all Choice room nights.
Holders of the Choice Privileges Select Mastercard earn 5x points on qualifying purchases at EV charging stations, while Choice Privileges Mastercard cardholders earn 3x points.
The new follows last agreement between Hilton and Tesla for the installation of up to 20,000 Universal Wall Connectors at 2,000 hotels across the US, Canada and Mexico.
