Centara Hotels, the Thai-based hospitality company, is aiming to double in size by 2022.
The group currently has 33 properties in Thailand, and 6 overseas, with a further 12 in development in Thailand and 17 overseas. These are under six brands, with the group introducing two new brands – a classic luxury brand and a contemporary luxury lifestyle brand – later in the year.
The group has a mix of both leisure properties and hotels with either extensive meeting facilities or links to conference centres.
Centara Grand Hua Hin is one of its best known properties, and a rebranding of the hotel to introduce the classic luxury brand is possible.
Recent openings for Centara include the 265 room Centara West Bay Residences and Suites in Doha’s West Bay District, with a Centara Grand Hotel Doha opening in the first half of next year, but it is the group’s Cosi brand which will make up the greatest number of new properties in the expansion.
Aimed at “millennials and digital nomads”, the Cosi brand includes both resorts and city properties, often connected to shopping malls.
Other openings this year include
- Centara Sonrisa Residences & Suites Sriracha (May 2019)
- Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort & Spa Krabi (July 2019)
- Cosi Pattaya Naklua Beach (August 2019)
