Cathay Pacific has once again launched its Vantage Pass promotion, enabling travellers to book business or premium economy class round-trip tickets to two destinations at a time at a single reduced rate.’
The way it works is that destinations are separated into seven “zones” from A to G, with each having different starting rates in premium economy and business class (zones A, B and C don’t have premium economy fares, however). Travellers can either pick two destinations from the same zone, or destinations from two different zones. A full list of destinations and their zones can be viewed here.
Zone B, for example, has Hangzhou, Ningbo and Nanjing in China, and Cebu, Chiang Mai, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket, with business class fares starting at HK$4,500. Meanwhile, Zone E has Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney in Australia, Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand, and Tel Aviv in Israel, with business class fares starting at HK$24,000 and premium economy starting from HK$9,800.
Travellers could therefore choose an itinerary of business class tickets to Hangzhou and Phuket for a possible overall fare of HK$9,000, or Hanoi and Auckland for a possible total of HK$28,500.
