Cathay Dragon is launching flights to its second destination in China’s eastern Shandong province, Jinan, on March 26 this year, joining its existing service to the city of Qingdao.
The flights are set to operate four times a week, departing Hong Kong on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and leaving Jinan on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flight KA960 out of Hong Kong arrives in Jinan just before midnight, with the return KA961 service taking off the following morning some nine hours later.
Flight No. | From | To | Departs | Arrives | Days |
KA960 | Hong Kong (HKG) | Jinan (TNA) | 1955 | 2315 | Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat |

The new route follows Cathay Dragon’s inaugural flight to Nanning in Guangxi province in early January, which the airline also serves four times a week.
“Our priority is to grow our reach to new destinations, which is why we are delighted to soon be adding Jinan to our network,” said Paul Loo, chief customer and commercial officer for Cathay Pacific.
“Shandong province is a flourishing region, one that is becoming ever more popular with travellers from around Asia and beyond.”
Cathay Dragon will fly its two-class Airbus A320 aircraft to Jinan – the regional carrier has an all-Airbus fleet comprising A330s, A321s and A320s. Business class on the A320 comprises eight seats set out 2-2 and economy has 156 seats in a 3-3 layout.
