British Airways has announced a number of enhancements to its Chicago service, as the carrier celebrates its 70th anniversary of flights to the Windy City.

The carrier has switched its departures from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 at Chicago O’Hare, enabling customers to benefit from American Airlines’ check-in desks and lounges, as well as improved connections with its transatlantic partner.

It follows Aer Lingus’ recent switch to Terminal 3, and means that all flights by IAG carriers BA, Iberia and Aer Lingus now depart from T3, as well as those of oneworld partner Japan Airlines.

Note that BA’s flights outbound flights from Heathrow will continue to arrive into Chicago’s Terminal 5.

In addition BA is introducing a third daily nonstop frequency between London and Chicago this summer.

From 11 May the schedules will be as follows:

  • BA0295 departs Heathrow at 1105, arrives into Chicago at 1345
  • BA0299 departs Heathrow at 1310, arrives into Chicago at 1550
  • BA0297 departs Heathrow at 1535, arrives into Chicago at 1815
