Bateel International, an iconic luxury retail, gourmet food, and F&B brand that is the world’s only gourmet organic date grower, producer, and seller, will be opening up a Bateel Boutique and Café Bateel at the InterContinental Al Ahsa, part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts luxury and lifestyle portfolio.

The decision has come as a result of a strategic decision to meet evolving consumer preferences for more premium hospitality experiences by placing a dedicated Bateel Boutique and Café Bateel within the hotel. Combined as a unified space, it will be located adjacent to the hotel’s grand staircase to tempt guests with their selections of gourmet dates, pastries, and premium coffee and tea. Guests will also be able to purchase everything from dates to date syrup, date balsamic vinegar, and olive dates to sparkling date drinks, condiments, and more.

IHG’s InterContinental unveils brand “evolution”

Bilal El Kurjie, the brand’s director of business development, described the alignment between Bateel’s brand values and standards and IHG’s renowned luxury offerings, saying that the partnership sets new benchmarks in hospitality excellence while contributing to the kingdom’s growth. Meanwhile, Mr. Walid al Haddad, general manager of Al Ahsa InterContinental Hotel, underscored the hotel’s esteemed status in the market as a cultural and hospitality icon, and how it stands out for its historic and natural surroundings

Bateel launched its first boutique in Riyadh in 1991, after the first Bateel farm was propagated in the kingdom in 1936. The name “Bateel” refers to the young offshoot of a date palm that can be used to grow into a new tree. This will be the first time a Bateel concept has partnered with an InterContinental hotel.
