Airbus’ A220-300 test aircraft has begun a week-long demonstration tour across six Asian destinations.
Airbus says the plane’s first stopover is at Seoul’s Incheon Airport, and then it will head to Yangon (Myanmar). The aircraft will then visit Hanoi (Vietnam), Bangkok (Thailand) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) before heading north to Nagoya (Japan). The tour started on July 29 and will end on August 6.
A spokesperson from Airbus provided Business Traveller Asia-Pacific with the following schedule for the A220-300 tour:
- Yangon – July 31
- Hanoi – August 1
- Bangkok – August 2
- Kuala Lumpur – August 3
- Nagoya – August 6
The A220 family is the newest addition to the Airbus single-aisle product line. The aircraft being used for the demonstration tour in Asia is an Airbus flight test aircraft.
During the tour, customers and media will get tours of the aircraft.
The A220-300 is the largest member of the A220 Family with a maximum seating capacity of 160. Airbus unveiled the A220 family in July last year after taking a majority stake in Bombardier’s CSeries programme. The A220 is a rebrand of the Bombardier C Series aircraft, the CS100 and CS300, which first entered service in 2016.
