On April 15, Sharjah-based airline Air Arabia announced new passenger repatriation flights as well as cargo flights to multiple destinations from Sharjah International Airport.
As per an official statement, the airline will operate a mix of outbound only passenger flights as well as cargo flights during the month of April to Afghanistan, Iran, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sudan, Egypt, India and Nepal.
As far as India is concerned, India has already announced the extension of its lockdown period as well as suspension of all domestic and international flights until May 3, 2020. Therefore, Air Arabia will now only operate cargo flights to India.
Furthermore, the statement said, “Air Arabia is operating repatriation flights to limited destinations to carry outbound passengers from the UAE to their home countries. Current available flights during the month of April are operating from Sharjah International Airport to Lar, Shiraz and Kabul. More destinations will be added once the necessary approvals are obtained.”
Air Arabia makes it mandatory for all passengers to make use of gloves and face masks before boarding.
Earlier, due to the directives and restrictions imposed by the UAE authorities, Air Arabia was forced to cancel most of its flights until May 15, 2020.
